Former Ghana international Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu believes Mohammed Kudus will grow and improve from his recent display of frustration in the Premier League.
Kudus became the center of attention after receiving a red card in a tense match against Tottenham Hotspur on October 20, just after the international break.
The incident involved a heated altercation with Micky van de Ven and Pape Matar Sarr, which led to his dismissal in West Ham’s 4-1 loss.
Following the incident, the English Football Association (FA) charged Kudus and West Ham for improper conduct, opening the door to possible disciplinary action that could significantly impact Kudus’ season.
Agyemang-Badu, however, came to the defense of the 23-year-old, emphasizing that “mistakes are a natural part of football, and he just needs encouragement and support.”
In an interview with Flashscore, he expressed confidence in Kudus’ potential, stating, “Mistakes are a natural part of football, and he just needs encouragement and support.”
“I truly believe he will become one of the greatest players to emerge from Africa,” he added in the same interview.
Addressing Kudus’ recent performances, Agyemang-Badu noted that while this year started strong for the young midfielder, emotions ultimately led to his downfall. “This year, he started off strong, but unfortunately, emotions got the better of him, resulting in a red card against Tottenham.”
Looking ahead, the former Udinese midfielder expressed optimism about Kudus’ potential growth, tipping him for greatness. “Being young, he will learn from this experience and improve. Gradually, we will see him progress and potentially join some of the greatest clubs in the world.”
Kudus has already served one of his three-game ban as West Ham United ended a poor run of form by defeating Manchester United on Sunday.
