Ksi: Gov’t To Give Order To Neoplan Company To Produce 100 Buses- Trade Minister Reveals
The Minister for Trade and Industry, Hon. Alan Kyeremateng has disclosed that the government will give an order to Neoplan Company Limited to produce 100 buses for Metro Mass Transport to revive the company.
Hon. Alan Kyeremateng added that government will add cash to the buses to stimulate the business.
He made this known to Wontumionline’s Nana Owusu Achiaw In an interview at Abrepo Junction when he together with the President visited the Neoplan Company Limited on day 4 of the Ashanti Region tour.
According to Hon. Alan Kyeremateng, Neoplan Company is a household company stressing it was formidable in the era of former President John Agyekum Kufuor.
The Trade and Industry Minister said if the country continues to export buses it will do the country more harm than good.
He indicated that the Company has applied for the One District One Factory policy and it has been approved.
To this end Hon. Alan Kyeremateng reiterated that “Neoplan shall rise again.”
Chipping in, President Akufo-Addo reiterated that Neoplan Company was intense during the era of former President John Agyekum Kufuor.
Akufo-Addo said he will ensure the order the company is pursuing gets consented.
“Asenso Boakye is my son. I trained him and he is now a Minister so his plight is my plight. You should exercise patience and very soon things will change.”
