It’s about seven years since
Asante Kotoko won the Ghana Premier League title in the 2013-14 season after beating New Edubiase 2-1 on Wednesday.
The Porcupine Warriors retained the title they won in 2011-2012 season to make it a record 23 with two games to spare in the term.
It was coach Didi Dramani’s second league title in charge of Kotoko.
They amassed 54 points from 28 games to annex the maiden First Capital Plus trophy,
It was Seidu Bancey who got the party off to a flying start with a wonderful 41st minute strike at the Gyamfi Park before Prince Baffoe doubled the lead on the stroke of half time.
Emmanuel Nti Mensah pulled one back when Stephen Manu had missed from the spot to end any late scare.
Coach Dramani equalled Cecil Attuquafio’s record of back-to-back league trophy whiles Kotoko equalled the record of three-straight titles by Hearts of Oak and Ashanti Gold.
