The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has taken on former President John Mahama and asked him to render an immediate apology to the souls who died because of the creation of his ‘dumsor’.
His comments come on the back of the hypocritical statement made by the former President over the passing of Kofi Kakra who was electrocuted after he claimed an electricity transformer.
Chairman Wontumi berated Mr. Mahama for having no shame to comment on the “murders his dumsor” created but is quick to talk about Kofi Kakra’s death.
Chairman Wontumi pulled out an old story of how ‘dumsor dumsor’ killed the operations of Joy FM, Adom FM, Hitz FM and Asempa FM and a host of TV and online networks.
It would be recalled that under the Presidency of Mr. John Mahama, the Multimedia Group came out to state that they will not be broadcasting at night (starting from midnight to 4am) again until further notice because of ‘Dumsor Dumsor’—as it’s taking a toll on their alternative power resource to keep on with the usual around the clock broadcast.
It would also be recalled that under the tenure of Mr. John Mahama, a UK-based Ghanaian, Kwadwo Adom and his girlfriend were found dead at Kukurantumi in the Eastern region.
The two died as a result of inhalation of carbon-monoxide fumes from a generator they were using in their room during a power cut in the area.
The ‘dumsor’ problem also took the lives of a 32-year old Frank Arhin and his 30-year old financee Sandra Boateng at Dansoman after they suffocated from their generator fumes they had placed in their room.
