Kofi Abban Served with Contempt Applications at UPSA Event Amid Ongoing Land Dispute
A dramatic turn of events has unfolded in the ongoing land dispute between Kofi Abban Holdings and Titanium 123 Properties Limited. Dr. Kofi Amoa-Abban, founder of Kofi Abban Holdings, was served with two contempt of court applications by Titanium 123 Properties Limited during a public event at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).
The dispute centers on a 22.36-acre parcel of land at Prampram, in the Greater Accra Region. Titanium 123 Properties Limited claims that Dr. Abban and his associates have repeatedly flouted a July 2024 High Court ruling, which granted the company permission to continue construction work on the land.
According to court documents, the troubles began when Dr. Abban and his associates allegedly mobilized armed military personnel and police officers to forcibly halt work being undertaken by Titanium’s grantees in August 2024. The operation reportedly resulted in the assault of workers, destruction of structures, and disruption of active construction works.

When the respondents attempted to legitimize their actions by applying for a variation of the court’s ruling, their application was dismissed in February 2025. However, the conflict escalated once more on April 9, 2025, when a team led by ASP Malaika-Jabril Alhassan, accompanied by uniformed police officers, returned to the site and demolished all ongoing construction activities despite no new court order authorizing such action.
The estimated cost of the damage now exceeds GH₵2 million. Titanium 123 Properties Limited has described the actions of Kofi Abban Holdings and its associates as a serious affront to judicial authority and a dangerous precedent for land administration and enforcement of lawful orders in Ghana.
In response to the allegations, Kofi Abban Holdings has fired back, alleging that Christian Kpakpo Abbosey, Director of Titanium 123 Properties Limited, is currently being sought by the Ghana Police for allegedly arming land guards with illegal weapons, and this was contained in a statement signed by Dr. Kofi Abban, in April 2025.
“Face the law and respond to these criminal allegations rather than distract the public with falsehood,” the statement read. The development adds another layer of complexity to the already contentious land dispute.
The successful service of court documents at the UPSA event marks a significant step forward in efforts to hold Dr. Abban and his associates accountable for their alleged actions. As the legal battle continues, stakeholders are watching closely to see how the courts will resolve this contentious issue. The outcome will likely have far-reaching implications for land ownership and the rule of law in Ghana.
