KNUST Level 200 Student Was Killed Over GHC 300 – Police
It has emerged that a level 200 student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology who was killed at Sewua in the Ashanti Region demanded GHC 300 owed him by his friend Emmanuel Boateng who is a tailor’s apprentice.
It was earlier reported that a Level 200 KNUST student had been murdered for demanding monies owed him by a friend.
The suspect Emmanuel Boateng is said to have hit the head of Nana Gyamfi with a stick after he had asked him to accompany him to his mother’s building site.
Speaking to Accra-based FM, DSP Godwin Ahianyo, who is the Public Relations Officer for the Ashanti Regional Police Command, said “the suspect lured the deceased to a nearby [location] and killed him. According to the suspect, he owed the deceased an amount of GH¢300 and couldn’t pay up when he (the deceased) came asking, for which reason he killed him.”
He indicated that there could be more to the story because it’s absurd to kill his colleague over GHC 300.
“We find the story a little hard to believe because why will he resort to taking his friend’s life over GH¢300.? We suspect there is more and we are going to ensure we get the full details.”
