The National Executives of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) have hinted coming to Kumasi to meet aggrieved traders.
The aggrieved traders’ shops have been closed by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) over non-compliance with the electronic VAT system.
Over 800 shops have been closed in the Adum enclave as other traders are replicating the same action in other areas of the Region.
Speaking on Wontumi TV Morning Show on Wednesday, National Organizer for the NPP, Henry Nana Boakye fumed in disagreement with the GRA’s approach.
Nana B as he is fondly called described the approach as oppressive.
He further opined that the GRA’s action is tarnishing the image of the NPP.
“We are not in normal times so we can’t put an extra burden on the traders,” he said.
He bemoaned that the traders have suffered since the eruption of COVID-19 and the Russia-Ukraine crusade.
Nana B asked where is the communication department of the GRA to explain issues?
