Head coach of the Los Angeles Galaxy, Greg Vanney, has praised Ghana winger Joseph Paintsil for his output in the Galaxy’s latest win away from home.
Los Angeles picked up a 3-1 win against Vancouver Whitecaps in Canada with Paintsil scoring a goal and assisting on another. He has three goals and three assists in eight games this season and is a frontrunner in the early season MVP race.
Speaking on Paintsil’s performance, Vanney highlighted Paintsil’s positional switch to the right and his overall impact on the team’s win.
“I thought his movement was smart, it’s not a position he’s played a ton of but I thought his movement was smart. I thought his work rate was excellent.”
“We made a little bit of a change in the latter part of the game when it (the game) was opening up to see if we could get Joseph facing a little bit forward more and running from wide positions to the inside and he was able to benefit.”
