Belgian side KRC Genk is on the verge of reaching a transfer agreement with Los Angeles Galaxy over Ghanaian winger Joseph Paintsil.
This is according to Belgium Football Journalist Bob Faesen who broke the news about the two teams reaching an agreement over the speedy winger’s transfer.
Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy is reported to have agreed to a four year deal worth eight million euros to acquire the service of Paintsil from the Belgian side.
The move, should it be completed, will see the 26 year old Ghanaian winger move to the United States of America in a deal that is likely to double his wage.
As a result, Paintsil is likely going to be rendered a “Designated Player” meaning he will be one of a few players to be counted outside the salary cap in the league.
Paintsil is coming off a fine performance in the 2023 AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire despite Ghana’s poor first round elimination from the tournament.
In 23 league games this season, Paintsil has six goals and four assists after registering 14 goals and 14 assists in 30 league appearances last in the 2022-2023 season.\
