Joseph Owusu Danso ‘Anelka’ Gives To Muslims In Ahensan.
The Assembly member for the Ahinsan Electoral Area and aspiring youth organizer for Asokwa NPP, Joseph Owusu Danso Abeam on Friday gave some food items valued at 10,000cedis to Muslim groups in Ahinsan and Kaase respectively.
The items donated consisted of 10 bags of sugar, ten cartons of millo, ten cartons of milk and a dozen boxes containing mosquito nets as well as some undisclosed amount of money to ten Imams.
At a short presentation ceremony, Mr Danso Abeam popularly known as ‘Anelka’ said he was appreciative of the sacrifices of the Muslim folk over the years.
”From infancy and growing up in Ahinsan I have seen Muslim heads in this community using the Ramdan fast to pray for the peace of Asokwa and Ghana in general”, the assembly member and NPP aspirant noted.
RATIONALE FOR DONATION:
Mr Danso said he decided to provide the food items to the Muslim community so they can continue their fast and finish on a sound note.
He noted the fasting bodes goodwill for the Asokwa community and the little some of them who are in a position of trust could do was to support them to carry out such a sacred act.
Anelka mentioned his desire to continue with such a gesture in subsequent years when he is able and promised to show similar kindness when they are celebrating the EID that follows the fast.
‘’I am praying to Allah that he supplies me with strength so I can continue to give to support my fathers and Imams who have shown so much commitment for the welfare of this community’’, the aspiring NPP organiser noted.
APPRECIATION:
Mallam Musa Tanko, Chief Imam at Ahinsan receiving the items on behalf of the 9 other chief Imams in the community including Kaase thanked the Assemblyman for the gesture.
He noted that apart from the MP for Asaokwa who gives to them during Ramadan and EID every year, this was the first they were receiving from an assemblyman in Ahinsan.
Mallam Tanko therefore urged that other public office holders particularly those who live in Zongo Communities replicate the same gesture by supporting Muslims in their sacred periods.
‘’During Ramadan we pray for the Ahinsan community, Asokwa and Ghana in general so that Allah would grant us grace to live in such peaceful conditions throughout the year’’, Mallam Tanko posited.
