The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, John Mahama, should prepare to spend the rest of his life in prison if he should heed to the call by a member of his party to run a parallel government, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Bernard Antw-Boasiako, has warned.
Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako in a telephone interview on Wontumi TV stated that the government of President Akufo-Addo would not tolerate any person who would want to cause a stir and destabilize the peace of Ghana by forming a parallel government.
Over the week, the outgoing NDC Member of Parliament for Tamale Central constituency, Inusah Fuseini, came under intense bashing for suggesting to Mr. Mahama to form his own government after the Electoral Commission declared President Akufo-Addo winner of the 2020 Presidential election.
Reacting to call by Mr. Fuseini, the NPP Chairman popularly known as Chairman Wontumi stated that it was a treasonable one and must be condemned by all.
According to him, he was surprised Mr. Fuseini, a trained lawyer could make such a call knowing very well that it is against the constitution of Ghana.
“It is treasonable offense and it is coming from a professional lawyer. I am sad about him”, Chairman Wontumi said.
He continued that he would advise the defeated Presidential candidate of the NDC not to heed to call by his party member since it comes with several complications.
“I want to tell John Mahama that if he jokes, Akufo-Addo will arrest him like a hawk does to a fowl”, he warned.
