Former President John Mahama used part of his ex-gratia to grease the palms of Prof. Steve Hanke to speak on behalf of his party the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Chairman Wontumi has emphatically said.

His comments comes on the back of the one-sided political bidding the US based professor has started doing for the NDC by deliberately speaking ill about the handlers of Ghana’s economy.

In an interview with Wontumionline.com, Chairman Wontumi alleged that Prof. Steve Hanke might have received some form of booty from the NDC to speak for them considering the “way his mouth has running like someone with diarrhea on Ghana’s economy”.

He continued that he won’t be surprised if the US based professor has relocated to Ghana and is being housed at the NDC’s party head office at Adabraka.

The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the NPP also responded squarely to comments by Steve Hanke that President Akufo-Addo is mismanaging the economy of Ghana.

Chairman Wontumi stated in an interview with Wontumionline.com that it is obvious that the NDC has bribed Prof. Steve Hanke and hired him with “corrupt” money to speak on their behalf.

“NDC has bribed your head” Chairman Wontumi said of Prof Hanke and added that when his statements about Ghana’s economy is put under scrutiny, it becomes obvious he doesn’t understand the subject.

“I feel sad for this Professor, he has reached that height in life but has allowed himself to be bribed by NDC to speak nonsense about Ghana’s economy. What he has said is not true and I expected him to speak based on facts but he has turned out to be a propaganda professor”, Chairman Wontumi said.

Chairman Wontumi explained that Ghana’s economy has suffered firstly because of the COVID-19 and secondly because of the war between Russia and Ukraine.
