A member of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) communications team, Mr. Agyemang, has called on President John Dramani Mahama, to take decisive action against illegal mining operations, which he believes are spiraling out of control.
Mr. Agyemang noted that the government was elected on promises to address illegal mining, and it is imperative that they fulfill these promises.
Speaking with Oheneba Nana Asiedu on Wontumi’s morning show, Wofa Agyemang criticized the government’s approach to addressing illegal mining, stating that arresting those who speak out against the practice is not an effective solution.
He emphasized that the government should instead focus on addressing the root causes of illegal mining and working to prevent it.
“Mahama is collapsing the country,” Wofa Agyemang stated.
He reiterated the need for the government to take decisive action against illegal mining and to address the concerns of citizens who are speaking out against the practice.
