- For the sake of peace, President Akufo-Addo granted a prison bound Mahama presidential pardon, Chairman Wontumi has revealed.
The Ashanti regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has said that President Akufo-Addo decided to allow his predecessor to roam free on the streets of Ghana because he values peace.
“You are the candidate of prison. Akufo-Addo has given you presidential pardon that is why you are walking free. Everybody in Ghana knows that when you type John Mahama, corruption related articles pop up”, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako affectionately called Chairman Wontumi said.
He referenced the jailing of Imran Khan in Pakistan as a blueprint Ghana under President Akufo-Addo could use to jail former President John Mahama.
“John Mahama has to be in prison by now. President Akufo-Addo is peace loving person else you should be in prison like Pakistan has done. Ameri deal and Airbus scandal are enough to take him to prison”, he said in an interview on Western Diamond TV.
He continued “It took Nana Addo to run this country in a peaceful manner else you should be in prison by now. Nana Akufo-Addo wants peace in Ghana else just like Pakistan was able to jail their former President- equally when we take a look at Airbus and Ameri deal, John Mahama should have be imprisoned by now”.
