Whiles vice President Mahamudu Bawumia was taking all the glory during last Sunday’s Akwasidae, one person whose absence was loud was Mr. John Dramani Mahama.
The reason attributed to his absence according to lawyer Maurice Ampaw is because he finances Kevin Taylor to insult the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
“He pretends he loves Ashantis but he has hired Kevin Taylor and pays him to get the support of NDC to insult Otumfuo. He pays Twene Jonas as well to insult the people of Ashanti”, he said.
Speaking on Wontumi TV which was monitored by Wontumionline.com, lawyer Ampaw stated that “the distance between President Mahama and Manhyia has widen and do you know why? Nana Osei Tutu the Asantehene, doesn’t like people who tell lies and a person who doesn’t honour his promises. He doesn’t like someone who uses propaganda, is desperate and also pretends. Nana Osei Tutu has come to a realization that Mahama carries all these qualities.”
According to him vice President Bawumia, has rather found favour and blessings before the Ashantehene.

Addai Nimoh; National Chairman of the party, Mr. Stephen Ntim; General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Koduah; Ashanti Regional Chairman, Chairman Wontumi; Minister for Education, Hon. Yaw Adutwum; Majority Leader and MP for Suame, Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah; Energy Minister, Hon. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh; Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Simmon Osei Mensah and MP for Effiduase, Hon. Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie.
