J.B. Danquah Death: Suspect’s Lawyer Accuses Late MP’s Driver Of Murder

The lawyer for Daniel Asiedu, one of the persons being tried for the alleged murder of J.B. Danquah-Adu, has accused the driver of the late Member of Parliament (MP) for Abuakwa North of killing the MP.

According to the defence counsel, the body size, weight and height of the late MP make it impossible for Daniel Asiedu to have overpowered him.

He suggested that the driver, Samuel Berko Sarkodie, who is the first witness in the case, fit better as a suspect in the alleged murder, considering his imposing stature, height and weight.

But the driver denied the allegation, explaining that he dropped off the former MP and left the premises to his house immediately.

Background

Daniel Asiedu and another person Vincent Bosso, have been charged with murder and abetment for the murder of the late MP.

Asiedu had earlier said that he went to the MP’s house to steal but ended up killing him in self-defence.

He subsequently withdrew these claims and stated that he had gone with the intention of killing the legislator.

The late J.B. Danquah-Adu was stabbed to death on February 9, 2016, at his Shiashie residence in Accra.

Daniel Asiedu, who was the prime suspect, was arrested two days after the incident.
