It’s Time For Competent People And Not Tradition- Adenta Kumi Reacts To Hopeson Adorye’s Statement (VIDEO)

A communications team member of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Alfred Ababio Kumi, has indicated that the Director of operations for Alan Kyeremanteng’s 2024 campaign, Hopeson Adorye, must render an apology for stating that the northerners who represents the Dombo side of the NPP tradition are only fit for running mates positions.

This statement which didn’t go well with many Ghanaians have criticized him and Adenta Kumi, as he’s affectionately called has also condemned the statement

Speaking on Movement In The Morning Show, he told Kwaku Dawuro, “that’s not the position of Alan Kyeremanteng. This is not a fortunate statement that should come from a senior person like Hopeson Adorye. But I think he was carried away by the crowd- have you heard Alan Kyeremanteng coming out to support the statement or Akufo-Addo? It was unfortunate and we condemn it. One of the most fortunate people is Dr. Bawumia, in 2012 he wasn’t a member of the party, but he had the full support of the party to run as a running mate”.

“Let’s not drag a competent man’s name into this, what he said is wrong and we must make it known to him. Campaigning with the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition will be the lowest form of campaign. You should be able to tell us your competency, long serving commitment to the party and what you’re capable of doing”, he added.
”Let’s condemn it- it’s time for competent people, long serving people”, he concluded.

This comes after Hopeson Adorye, who was addressing a walk held in Kumasi dubbed ‘Walk for Alan’ over the weekend in a video trending on social media ridiculing Northerners’ status in the NPP, saying the Dombos are always fit as running mates to either a Danquah candidate or a Busia candidate so that tradition must continue.
