The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has admitted to the difficulties he faced seeking to retain his position.
Mr. Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi stated on Wontumi TV that his decision to seek reelection, proved a difficult task when compared to his previous elections.
“This election wasn’t easy for me. I have contested elections but this wasn’t easy”, he admitted.
He explained candidates who showed interest in the Ashanti regional Chairmanship race, were top notch.
Chairman Wontumi praised God and men who favored him to be elected again. He singled out polling station representatives and delegates at the constituency level for supporting his vision.

Delegates in the Ashanti Region converged at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi to elect new executives to run the affairs of the party in the region for the next four years.
About 950 delegates cast their ballot to elect nine officers at various levels to man the party ahead of the 2024 general elections.
The positions which were contested were that of chairman, which had five contestants but was reduced to a two-horse race between incumbent, Chairman Wontumi and Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as COKA.
Robert Asare Bediako former Asokwa Constituency Chairman, Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, former MP for Ejisu and Oheneba Adum Bawuah are the other contestants in the chairmanship race.
