Internal Audit Agency Has Saved The Country Over GH¢600M From Jan-August- Director Of Operations

The Director of Operations at the Internal Audit Agency,  Nathan Kenneth Yankey,  has disclosed that from January to August 2022 alone corruption prevention measures implemented by the agency have saved the country over 600Million Ghana cedis.

According to him, the Internal Audit Agency (IAA) saved over GH¢200 million from the implementation of some audit recommendations involving some public institutions in 2020 and saved over GH¢380million in 2021.

The measures included tackling weak control systems and injecting discipline in the management of public funds.

Speaking to Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning Show, Mr. Yankey further underscored the essence of the Ghana card in eliminating ”ghost names” from government’s payroll.

”Many people have not yet registered for their Ghana card and that is why we haven’t been able to fully implement the ‘No Ghana card, no salary’ policy. Because in order to do so we must ensure that every worker is enrolled on to the Ghana card”, he added.
