Indian Envoy Leads Investment Drive To Nkoranza

The Indian High Commissioner to Ghana, Sugandh Rajaram, is leading an investment drive for the people of Nkoranza in the Bono East Region.

The High Commissioner was on four-day working visit to the region and paid a courtesy call on the gazatted Omanhene of the Traditional Area, Nana Kwame Baffoe IV – assuring the paramount chief he’d push for Indian investors to tap into the area’s huge investment potential. He also said he would facilitate a visit for Nkoranza businessmen to meet their Indian counterparts to concretise the proposal.

ICT centre construction

The High Commissioner, accompanied by the Bono East regional minister Kwasi Adu-Gyan, also promised to set up an ICT centre in the area.
Nana Kwame Baffoe – Board Chairman of Nick Scan, the scan company at Tema port, airport all the warehouses, Paga, Aflao, all borders in Ghana and also in Sierra Leone and Gambia – expressed his deep appreciation for the High Commissioner’s visit, saying that Nkoranza is ready to do business with genuine investors.

Tourist site visits

The High Commissioner, led by the regional minister, later took a tour of the Kintampo Water Falls and the Fuller Falls in the Kintampo North Municipality, and the Boabeng-Fiama Monkey Sanctuary in the Nkoranza North district.
Describing the tourist sites as interesting, the Indian envoy promised to connect the region with investors to develop the sites and boost eco-tourism in the region.
He commended the chiefs and people of the region for their hospitality, saying: “We will continue to see Bono East as our second home”.
Mr. Adu-Gyan explained that tourism is a lucrative enterprise that can enhance the region’s revenue mobilization, appealing for the High Commissioner’s help to develop the site.
