IMF Will Bring Relief To The Country And Guarantee Us A Win In 2024- Hon Freda Prempeh

Member of Parliament for Tano North and minister of state at the Office of the President, Honorable Freda Akosua Prempeh, says the IMF loan will bring relief to the country, securing another win in the election in 2024.

In an interview with Kwaku Dawuro, on Movement In The Morning, on Movement TV/Wontumi radio, Hon Freda assured Ghanaians of ease on the current hardship in the economy through the International Monetary Fund loan, and added that it will be a guarantee to break the eight in the coming elections. She commended President Akuffo Addo for creating developmental projects amidst chaosity in the country and worldwide.

In response to the Party standing a chance of being affected by the IMF, she said ”Let me first start by saying that Ghana was not in the state we currently are in when we went to IMF eighteen times. There are two different scenarios, now due to COVID, Ukraine and Russian war, countries worldwide are in difficult times, and recently if you followed, you’d realise UK doctors embarked on a demonstration as well as France, all these are as a result of COVID. Our President put in a lot of structures during the COVID era and in the midst of it, we have not stopped developmental projects, roads are still being constructed, we are working on health, paying school feeding, paying free senior high, leap, TVET, railways and infrastructure.

Like i said in Parliament that 2024 will be evidence based campaign, even though we are facing hardship two years after covid, but we believe that this time that we have a relief and structures will be put in place, things will start happening. I use to fill my petrol tank with Gh1,800 or Gh2,000 but i was able to fill it with Gh1,400 yesterday which means Petrol price has reduced. Dollar is stabilizing so gradually when there is enough money in the system, people will know that we are different from the others. Our President did his best to bring us relief in the most difficult times, so i believe it will help us going forward in 2024 because at the end of the day, by December things would have changed for the better, and based on that we can break our 2024 agenda”.
