The Member of Parliament for Afigya Kwabre North, Hon. Collins Adomako-Mensah, has stated that government’s ongoing negotiations with the IMF wouldn’t lead to a freeze on recruitment into the military, police, fire service etc.

The MP in an interview on Wontumi TV which was monitored by Wontumionline.com stated that a freeze on employment would only affect nonessential services and not essentials ones.

He insisted that government’s negotiation with the IMF was going according to plan and added that confidence in Ghana’s economy would soon be restored.

The Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta has announced a ban on employment for civil servants effective January 2023.
