I’m Ready to Lead—Chairman Wontumi Confirms Intent to Run for NPP National Chairmanship
Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of National Chairman of the party when the opportunity arises.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on Wontumi TV, Chairman Wontumi expressed confidence in his ability to lead the party at the national level, citing his experience, humility, and dedication to the party’s growth and grassroots.
“Yes, when the time is due, I’ll contest as the National Chairman of the NPP,” he affirmed. “I believe I have what it takes to unite the party and recapture power.”
Chairman Wontumi’s political journey began at the constituency level, where he served as Chairman for the Bosomtwe Constituency.
He later rose to become the Ashanti Regional Chairman, leading the party to three consecutive regional victories—a record achievement.
Reflecting on his track record, he said, “It’s time to move to the national level. I’ve served with humility, confidence, and commitment, and I believe I’m ready to bring that same spirit to lead the NPP to success in 2028.”
