A General Secretary Hopeful for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Charles Bissue, has stressed that he is coming on his own ticket and not under the sponsorship of anyone in the party.
The NPP General Secretary role has been one of the ardent positions over the years, it seems it is going to be tough this year with names such as Charles Bissue, Frederick Opare Ansah, former Member of Parliament (MP) for Suhum, Justin Koduah, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Youth Employment Agency (YEA), and the incumbent General Secretary for the NPP, John Boadu.
Kwaku Dawuro, the host for Movement In The Morning Political Show posed a question to Charles Bissue who is the current Regional secretary for the NPP in the Western Region on whose camp he belonged to; Bawumia or Alan Kyeremanteng who are both aspiring flagbearers for the NPP come 2024.
In his response he said ‘’I don’t opine to clicks because clicks will affect 2024 elections. I am not coming from anyone’s camp. I am coming on my own record and for NPP. I believe the General Secretary role is a neutral position and we must act without fear or favour’’
‘’We need to all come together and work for the victory of the NPP in 2022. A leader must listen and be objective in everything they do. In choosing a leader we need to focus more on their qualities and what they stand to achieve’’, he added.
He encouraged aspirants not to think about themselves only but should concentrate on the party’s victory ahead of the coming elections.
