Ghanaian rapper, Pope Skinny has revealed a surprising career move, sharing that he is now a truck driver in the United States.
The artiste explained that, the decision was driven by the lack of financial security for entertainers in Ghana.
According to Pope Skinny, while entertainers in Ghana can enjoy success with hit songs, endorsements, and performances, there is no long-term financial plan or pension scheme in place for them.
This, he said, is the reason many veterans struggle in later years.
Determined to secure his future, Pope Skinny moved to the US, where he took up truck driving – a job he said he would never have considered in Ghana.
“I’m proud to be a truck driver in America because it pays my bills, It’s a job I won’t do in Ghana, but nobody knows me here so I am okay. It brings me financial stability” he added.
