Lawyer Maurice Ampaw is calling on the Inspector General of Police to arrest Captain Smart to serve as determent to others who are badmouthing the Ghana Armed Forces.
His call follows the police’s invitation to the host of the Wontumi Morning Show, Oheneba Nana Asiedu, over claims of peddling of false information.
The Ashanti Regional Police Command on Friday, November 22, 2024, invited Oheneba following allegations that he had encouraged voters to cast their ballots for presidential candidates on separate days during the upcoming December general elections.
Addressing the issue on Wontumi TV last Sunday, lawyer Ampaw stated that “if you can call Oheneba then what about someone who is inciting against the military?”
He accused Captain Smart of using his platform to disrespect the GAF all the time.
For that reason, he is calling for the police to act immediately. “He needs to be arrested, detained and prosecuted”, he advocated.
