A severe notice has been served the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and others who think they can mock the building of the National Cathedral project started by the government of President Akufo-Addo.
Rev. Dr. Douglas Okonah Frempong, who is the General Overseer of Centre for Christian Outreach Ministries, has stated that the national Cathedral has become a vital project that can’t be overlooked by any successive government.
Speaking on Wontumi TV, the revered man of God stated that Christians that make up 70% of the voter population are ready to stand up and punish any political party that tries to undermine the project.
“No government can change this project. You can’t come and change this project to a cinema house. Christians make up 70% of the voter population so we would dictate to anybody if we realize they want to undermine the project”, Rev. Dr. Douglas Okonah Frempong said.
He praised the government of President Akufo-Addo for working on the national cathedral noting that the opposition, it has been faced with, shows that the project is a good one.
“The important thing in life is one’s relationship with God. Anytime government wants to do something good, it is meant with serious opposition. Take a look at what Nkrumah suffered before building the Akosombo dam or Tema motorway. This is the same with the national cathedral; those complaining I can tell you that some of them are not thinking about the future. They are only thinking about today and not the future”, he said.
