The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for GA West, Honorable Clement Wilkinson, has expressed his fears for the New Patriotic Party going into shambles, should their attention be drifted from the media.
According to Hon Wilkinson, the media plays a crucial role in politics, and hence requires massive attention as it can make and unmake a political party.
He cautioned party members to avoid sideling the media, and to speak up when there is any form of misinformation.
”Today i was listening to some stations and you could tell that some Political parties have started investing in people to sit on the screens to talk about them in an advertising form. I can pay radio and TV stations in Accra for them to talk about me, which is an advertisement form and now there is one Political Party doing that. If care is not taken and we sideline the media, lies has become part of politics so if something is said about you and you do not address it, the next time you google it you’ll see it.
Someone said something to me about another person which I decided to search for the person on the net but to no avail, but his information popped up when I added liar to his name on the net. I was amazed so if other TV stations are being paid to spew lies about NPP, it’ll get to a point NPP will be doomed just like President Addo said Mahama’s campaign has gone to shambles,” Hon Wilkinson said on Movement In The Morning Show.
