Spokesperson for Vice President of the republic Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Gideon Boako, has stated that if not for democracy and the party’s constituency, it is only right that Dr. Bawumia is made the NPP’s flagbearer for the 2024 elections.
He noted that he’s the only one among the aspirants contending for the position, who was always available to defend the party.
“Whenever the party is under attack, Dr. Bawumia is the one who always avails himself to defend the party at the risk of suffering personal attacks, but he does it and he has been very committed to it”, he emphasized.
He spoke on Movement In The Morning show on Movement TV/ Wontumi Radio.
He disclosed that the very first townhall meeting the economic management team which was held, there were a lot of people who were skeptical about what Dr. Bawumia was going to say to defend the economic gains made by the government. However, after the t0ownhall meeting, every member of the party was so elated and relieved.
“Given what Dr. Bawumia has done, the expertise and experience he has, he is too much for any of our candidates. When we talk about experience, for him to even leave all that he had to do to represent the party in the 2012 election petition was great. And we all saw the level of intelligence he exhibited, giving some of the lawyers a tough time in court…”, he told Kwaku Dawuro.
He described Dr. Bawumia as a gift and treasure to the party.
