If 2020 was a difficult battle, pave way for popular candidates to win massively for NPP – Chairman Wontumi Advises NPP MP

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Mr. Antwi Bosiako aka Chairman Wontumi has urged some incumbent NPP parliamentary aspirants to withdraw from contesting for the next elections.

According to him, opportunities should be given to new aspirants who can beat the NDC with huge margins in the 2024 elections to add up to the numbers of the NPP to break the eight in the 2024 elections.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Wednesday 20th December 2023 opened nominations for aspiring parliamentary candidates in constituencies.

“If you nearly lost your seat or were on the verge of losing your seat in 2020, don’t pick a form to come and contest, please. We have to support people who can beat NDC candidates by far.

It’s not about money. It is about numbers that will give more votes to help in the presidential elections to break the eight.

He further encouraged everyone who has not voted yet to go out on the 21st December,which is tomorrow to vote in the respective areas.
Speaking on some of the anomalies in the election,he mentioned that one EC official misquoted the results at the Ahinsan electoral area but the police force intervened and ensured peace.
He issued a warning as well to the NDC to becareful of any plan of hooliganism because they’re also prepared and ready to face them.

The party has scheduled January 27, 2024, for the last stage of its internal election to choose its parliamentary candidates. Nominations are anticipated to close on December 25, 2023.
