Chairman Antwi Boasiako, Ashanti regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed his ambition to become the chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, one of Ghana’s premier football clubs. Speaking on Sports Buffet on Wontumi TV with Fancy Di Maria, Chairman Boasiako confidently stated that he will one day lead the club and restore its former glory.
“I know I will become Kotoko chairman one day, and when that happens, I will invest heavily in the club. I will combine my business acumen and passion for football to ensure that Kotoko becomes a household name, just like it was during the era of Herbert Mensah,” he said.Â
Chairman Boasiako boasted that he would be the first club chairman to bring renowned coach Jose Mourinho to Kotoko and sign international players from top European clubs like Real Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, and Chelsea.
“Ghana has the money to attract these top players. The cars and houses I will offer them will be better than what they get abroad. This is definitely going to happen,” he claimed.
As a successful businessman, Chairman Boasiako acknowledged that managing a large club like Kotoko requires careful planning and research. He vowed to serve the Asantehene and the Ashanti region by bringing glory back to the club.
