I Want To Sleep In Jail For Life – Shatta Wale Screams

Dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr aka Shatta Wale has asserted that he wants to spend the rest of his life in jail after appearing in court today over his hoax shooting.

Wale has been remanded into jail for one week, and when he was leaving the court Wontumionline.com captured the Wale was screamed that “just send this to them. Tell them I wanna sleep in jail for life.”

It does appear he has not regretted his actions.

The incarcerated dancehall king has spent the last two nights in jail and was arraigned before the court today.

According to reports from the court, the trial judge denied him bail and remanded Wale and his two accomplices into police custody for one week.

The Borjor hitmaker sees himself as some sort of martyr and not a confused celebrity who engaged in a useless publicity stunt.

Background

Shatta Wale was arrested on Tuesday, October 19 for feigning a gun attack.

According to the report, the singer turned himself in after the Police declared him wanted.

“He has been arrested to assist the Police in investigations for his alleged involvement in the creation and circulation of information intended to cause fear and panic,” the Service further added. The singer, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr, embarked on what has now been confirmed as a prank on Monday, claiming he has been shot by unidentified assailants.

Reports on many websites said the ‘Melisa’ hitmaker had to be rushed to an unnamed hospital’s emergency room due to the severity of his injuries.

The Police also confirmed the arrest of two persons who work closely with the award-winning singer.

According to the Police report, Kojo Owusu Koranteng and Eric Venator circulated false information with regards to Shatta Wale’s safety to cause fear and panic.

Preliminary investigations by the Police revealed the widely reported gunshot attack on Shatta Wale on Monday was a hoax.

The Police suspected the singer’s involvement after he broke his silence following viral reports that he had been attacked and shot by unknown assailants.

“Shatta Wale and one other person popularly referred to as ‘Deportee’ are currently being pursued their possible involvement and knowledge of the circulation of false information to cause fear and panic. No one will be spared if Police investigations point to their possible criminal culpability in this matter,” the Service assured. According to the Shatta movement boss, he undertook the action due to a prophecy by one Bishop Stephen Akwasi, who predicted his death.

In a viral video, the founder and leader of New Life Kingdom Chapel International noted that Shatta Wale would lose his life on October 18, in a similar to that of South African reggae artiste, Lucky Dube, who was shot on October 18, 2007.

Shatta Wale stated that he feels his life is under threat and is currently on the run.

He noted that, until security agencies in the country step up to address such threats, his whereabouts will remain unknown.

“If my life can be threatened and there is no law to take actions on that, then I guess I will do what is right in the eyes of God.

“This is not the first time I have had these threats in this country now I am going through this emotional trauma alone, My dad has even defended me on the radio on this same issue. Why? Why? Ghana? Why? Yes, my life is in danger, and I am on the run till this country shows me there are laws…,” the October 19 post read.

He, therefore, called for the end of such prophecies with the hashtag #StopFalseProphesie
