Dancehall musician Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has expressed discontent over what he describes as Ghanaians’ lack of appreciation for successful, talented, and wealthy individuals.
According to Shatta, he is considering relocating to Nigeria and has even expressed interest in acquiring a Nigerian passport, further labelling Ghana a “stupid country.”
Shatta Wale made these statements while reacting to ongoing criticisms on social media following his decision to host Nigerian social media influencer, Peller.
One would recall that netizens took to various platforms to criticise Shatta, claiming he gave unnecessary attention and publicity to someone they referred to as a mere TikTok influencer.
Critics argued that Peller did not deserve such recognition or endorsement from a figure like Shatta Wale.
But Shatta Wale has dismissed this narrative, stating that he is fed up with Ghanaians constantly criticising everything he does.
“Nigerians please tell President Tinubu or your government so I get a Nigerian passport. This is a toilet country because they don’t appreciate successful people. I want to sell my house here and buy properties in Nigeria. You people should give me a Nigerian name because Ghana is a stupid country,” he stated in a post shared on Instagram on April 13, 2025.
Shatta Wale further expressed frustration over how Ghanaians constantly envy his success.
“If I buy a house they will say it is not mine, even when I bought my new car, they said it’s not mine. Ghana is a stupid country and I want to relocate,” he added.
