Gospel musician, Queenlet has made headlines with the revelation of her substantial investment in a recent sing-a-thon event in Germany.
The singer revealed that the event, which she organized to inspire and strengthen faith through gospel music, cost her over GH¢800,000.
Queenlet noted that, she faced financial challenges in organizing the event.
Initially, she intended for the sing-a-thon to be an outdoor event, but the costs proved to be overwhelming.
“My rough estimation was about €200,000. Only four security personnel were charging me €50,000 for a seven-day event,” she explained.
Due to these high costs, Queenlet opted for an indoor venue, which was more manageable financially and rounded up to a cost of over €50,000, estimated to be over GH¢800,000.
The sum covered expenses including sound technicians and streamers working in shifts, sanitary provisions, electricity, glass cage, promoters and provisions for witnesses/supporters for the seven days.
She expressed gratitude to the venue owner, a pastor, who was considerate and only required a token fee for the space.
The sing-a-thon, initially planned for six days, extended into a seventh day, culminating in a total of 124 hours and some seconds of continuous singing.
Despite the high costs, Queenlet is optimistic about her achievement and awaits official confirmation from the Guinness World Records (GWR).
“The sing-a-thon was very expensive, but it is worth it. I am confident in my victory. I will travel back to Ghana for a celebration if I win. Even if I don’t, I still have a reference in the books of GWR,” she said.
