I Pity the Young Politicians in NDC, They Are Going to Suffer the Revenge – Dr. Samuel Afriyie
Dr. Samuel Afriyie, a lecturer at Kumasi Technical University, has issued a stern warning to members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), declaring that they will bear the brunt of political revenge when the New Patriotic Party (NPP) returns to power.
Reacting to the recent release of NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, from the custody of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Dr. Afriyie condemned what he described as a “heartless” and “politically motivated” arrest.
In his words, “I pity the young politicians in the NDC. They are going to suffer the revenge. The next NPP government will not forgive what has been done to Chairman Wontumi and all NPP members.”
He mentioned specific NDC figures including Sammy Gyamfi, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, and Sam George, warning that these young politicians will become the primary targets of the NPP’s retaliation.
Dr. Afriyie also cautioned leaders within the NPP not to stand in the way of this future political response. “Any NPP leader who will call for calm and sympathy at that time will not be forgiven by the grassroots. This is personal now. The base of the party is angry, and they will not forget.”
He insisted that the NPP grassroots are enraged by how EOCO handled Wontumi’s case, claiming that the extended detention and harsh treatment were unjustified and humiliating.
“This was not just an attack on Wontumi. It was an attack on the spirit and pride of our party. And that will not go unpunished,” he declared.
