A communicator of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Isaac Asare, who is best known as Akonoba has stated that he is confident in the Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.
His comment comes after the Finance Minister addressed parliament on the Covid-19 funds.
Akonoba in his submission said, “The inflation rate in America is very high and Americans are even complaining. If not for the intelligence and the thorough management of the Finance Minister, the country would have been in extreme debt. We saw how they managed the country during the Covid-19 pandemic. Government workers were paid every month despite the condition we found ourselves”.
He applauded the Minister for his patience in answering every question that was thrown at him during the parliamentary address on the Covid-19 expenditure which took place Wednesday 22nd June, 2022 in Accra.
“The National Democratic Congress (NDC) took the country to the International Monitory Fund (IMF) because they could not handle the country’s economy. If this current Economic Management Team chaired by the vice-President, Dr. Bawumia is unable to manage the country’s finances then I am sorry to say that we will never get such a team again’’, he added.
He further said, ”NDC’s are not doing anything to rectify the problems they themselves have identified. They should put up their own Economic Management Team. Who and who are they going to bring?’’, he posed.
He advised Ghanaians to have faith in Ken Ofori-Atta and the Economic Management Team.
