Huspuppi Begs Not To Be Sent To Nigeria After Jail Sentence In The US

Popular Nigerian socialite and social media sensation, Ramon Abass, popularly known as Hushpuppi on November 4, 2022, has been sentenced to 11 years in prison in the United States by the United States Central District Court in California.

Hushpuppi despite being sentenced to 11 years in prison, will, however, do only a 9-year term as he has already spent two years in jail.

In June 2020, Hushpuppi was arrested by the Dubai Police on the account of extensive fraud schemes that robbed victims in countries like the US, Qatar, the UK and other places
of their money and properties. After his arrest in Dubai, he was transferred to the United States, where he was slapped with an 11-year jail term after pleading guilty to all the charges.

Hushpuppi lived a lavish and expensive lifestyle on social media, flaunting his cars, accessories and other luxury items he owned, attracting the attention of many and even celebrities and popular footballers.

Hushpuppi, in his trial, pleaded with the presiding Judge of the case, Judge Otis Wright to hand him a lighter sentence and not send him back to his country, Nigeria. He also commended the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for doing a
good job in bringing him to justice and apologised to his family.

According to reports, Hushpuppi was cooperative during the investigation period and has been on his best behaviour while in jail.
