How Shatta Wale Reportedly Lost A $4 Million Record Deal

Dancehall artist Shatta Wale has disclosed how he lost a $4 million record deal after the tracklist of his highly anticipated album, Gift of God, was allegedly leaked by his former manager, Bullgod.

According to Shatta Wale, the album was poised to feature international collaborations, and the record label had planned an extensive rollout strategy.

However, the unauthorized release of the tracklist by Bullgod reportedly led to the cancellation of the deal.

He further alleged in an interview on Kessben FM that Bulldog’s actions stemmed from personal grievances after their professional relationship ended.

“I lost a $4 million record deal because of Bulldog. After he illegally published the tracklist of my Gift of God album, the record company canceled the deal. I explained to them that it was an action from my former manager, but they still declined. It was devastating. Because he was no longer working with me, he wanted to disgrace me by leaking the album,” Shatta claimed.

The Gift of God album, originally slated for release in 2020, faced multiple delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Shatta Wale had earlier described the project as a timeless body of work aimed at giving fans a unique musical experience.

Following the cancellation of the deal, Shatta was forced to release the album independently in 2022.
