Godfathers are having a huge say in President Mahama’s appointments as it has been revealed that he appointed Dr. Frank Amoakohene as Ashanti regional Minister due to allegiance to Dr. Kwabena Duffuor.
Host of the Wontumi Morning Show, Kwaku Kyeremanten Nkansah, lifted the lid on what went into the appointment of the young medical professional as Ashanti regional Minister, stating that Joseph Yamin had wanted the position to be given to his loyalist.
In a letter dated Tuesday, January 14, 2025, President Mahama submitted the list of nominees for 10 regions which includes Dr. Frank Amoakohene who will serve as the Ashanti Regional Minister upon parliamentary approval.
“He is Kwabena Duffuor’s boy. He couldn’t have been regional secretary and let alone regional minister without his help”.
“Lawyer Evans Amakwah wanted the post too. But there were godfathers who were working behind the scenes. Nana Kwasi supported Amoakohene in a move to ward off any competition from the NDC Ashanti regional Chairmanship position”, he said.
