How Difficult Is It To Register Us Here? – Ghanaians Living In Abroad Raise Concern Over Ghana Card Registration Deadline

Some Ghanaians living abroad have raised concerns over the 31st July  2022 deadline for the registration of the Ghana card.

In an interview with Kwaku Dwauro on the Movement In The Morning Political Show, Richard Zinleri the chairman of the concerned Ghanaians living in the diaspora applauded Vice President.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s digitalization agenda, but explained that the process can not be complete if the biometric data of  Ghanaians living abroad are not captured.

According to him, the contributions of Ghanaians living abroad to the growth of the economy can never be underestimated.

“There are Ghanaians living in the diaspora who own businesses here in Ghana and have accounts with the various banks in Ghana, how are they expected to transact business as they are yet to secure their Ghana cards?”

He asked, “how difficult is it to get those of us living abroad the cards”.

He continued to say that failure to get them registered for the Ghana card means they are being cut off as nationals of the country.

He disclosed that the group will consider marching to present a petition to the President if the deadline elapses and they don’t have their Ghana cards.

This follows a decision by the National  Communication Authority to carry out a nationwide registration to have a biometric database of all Ghanaians above the age of 18. Effective July 31,2022, if you do not have the Ghana card, you may not be able to access many government services.
