Hon Paul Asamoah Calls On Ghanaians To Vote Massively To Retain President Akufo-Addo To Do More

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Akyemansa District in the Eastern Region, Hon Paul Asamoah has appealed to Ghanaians to vote tremendously to retain President Akufo-Addo to do more for the country.

He explained that voting hugely is the only way to give way to President Akufo-Addo to do more of what he has done.

Speaking with Oheneba Nana Asiedu on Wontumi TV/Radio flagship programme, Election 2020, Hon Asamoah lauded President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the implementation of the Free Senior High School (SHS) education policy to enhance the country’s manpower resources.

He said the effort of Nana Akufo-Addo had made a way for especially Junior High School graduates who because of financially-poor parental backgrounds could not have had the opportunity to attend SHS.

“This is the greatest intervention to hit the education sector in the country’s pre-and post-colonial history,”he stressed.

“There were comments that the free SHS programme cannot work especially at this time, but President Akufo-Addo did not give up but rather stood his ground and now the free SHS programme is here with us.This and many other social intervention should give President Akufo-Addo a second nod to do more.”

Background

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo launched Government’s Free Senior High School Policy, making good his resolve to ensure accessible, equitable, quality and life-changing education for every Ghanaian child.

The Free Senior High School program is a flagship intervention by the Government to widen the gates of opportunities to every child, especially those whose talents are arrested because of poverty.

Under the Policy, all cost barriers to education have been absorbed by the Government. It would improve the quality of education, address equity issues associated with education in the country and, importantly, ensure that every child acquires employable skills by the time they leave school.
