Health Workers’ Union Call Of Strike

The Health Workers’ Union (HSWU), has called off its industrial strike action.

This comes after the leadership of the Union reached a consensus with the government on Friday.

The General Secretary of the HSWU, Franklin Owusu Ansah made this known on Wontumi Radio Morning Show on Monday, 1st November, 2021.

He said the public can now visit the hospitals to secure medical care.

“It was not the wish of the union to cause industrial disharmony and disrupt the smooth delivery of health services, but the continuous disregard by the government to respond to our simple request pushed us,” he told the host of the Show, Oheneba Nana Asiedu.

Franklin Owusu Ansah revealed that the Union’s negotiations with the government has ended and that it will conform to the agreement.

“The agreement was 2 years and after the 2 years elapse,we should all act in good faith and go to the negotiations table again,”
