The Member of Parliament for Afigya Kwabre North, Collins Adomako- Mensah has commended government for the announcement of 8 reliefs taxes in the 2024 budget and allocated funds for contractors across the country.
He said major projects in the country especially in the Ashanti Region will begin after approval of the budget and the appropriation act by Parliament, government would be able to pay contractors to go back to site.
“The most interesting thing is that Government has made funds available for the Kejetia phase two, Airport phase two and for Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) so everybody should be rest assured that the above projects based on what the finance minister has said in the budget and when approved, government is in the position now to go back to pay contractors to go back to site.
On the Suame interchange the Hon MPO was happy to acknowledge that it is ongoing because it is being executed through external funding external.
Funding for the project is being provided through a loan agreement between the government of Ghana and the Deutche Bank. The loan agreement is in two parts – an amount of €135.4 million Euros and an amount of €21 million bringing the total to €156.4 million Euros.
On new roads projects, Hon Adomako-Mensah said , the government has decided not sign any new contracts so it’ll be able to concentrate on all ongoing projects”
