Government To Set Days For National COVID-19 Vaccination

As part of efforts to hit the target of vaccinating numerous Ghanaians, the government has decided to fix some days for national COVID-19 vaccination.

This was disclosed by the Programme Manager for the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) at the Ghana Health Service, Dr Kwame Amponsah Achiano on Wontumi TV Morning Show.

Kwame Amponsah Achiano said that the days will be set in the early part of February.

He reiterated that pregnant women will soon be vaccinated.

According to the EPI Programs Manager, it’s high time such people received the vaccine.

He explained that pregnant women chances of dying from COVID is ten times more as compared to others.

However, Dr Kwame Amponsah Achiano revealed that Ghana has so far received about 25 million doses of vaccines.

He said, over 7 million persons have received the jabbed.

“Not all have been fully vaccinated. The fully vaccinated people are 3.4 million,” he said.
