Ghana’s Economic Growth Always Improves Under NPP- Hon. Nyarko

Member of Parliament for Kwadaso, Hon. Prof. Kingsley Nyarko has indicated that Ghana’s economy growth always improves under NPP.

In a recent interview with Kweku Dawuro on Movement in the Morning, shared his thoughts on Ghana’s development under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) rule.

Hon. Nyarko emphasized the need for Ghanaians to be patient and love their country, as the progress might seem slow, but it is indeed happening.

He highlighted the good leadership provided by the NPP under former Presidents J.A. Kufuor, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and Dr. Bawumia. He cited Ghana’s economic growth, which was on track from 2017 to 2024, with a GDP growth rate of 8.1% in 2018, 6.3% in 2019, and 5.3% in 2023.

The MP also praised the development of Ghana’s international market, which has moved from below three months to four months in 2023, with a significant increase in import and export values.

Hon. Nyarko concluded that “this country is not doing bad at all” and expressed his confidence that the NPP government will be remembered for its achievements.

In addition, Nyarko urged NPP party members to own up to their defeat and stop finger-pointing, emphasizing that “success has many fathers, but failure is an orphan.” He encouraged party members to regroup, reflect, and work towards capturing power in 2028.

Nyarko also expressed his doubts about the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, particularly regarding the 24-hour economy, which was not included in the 2025 budget. He challenged John Dramani Mahama to explain the 24-hour economy and its potential benefits.

Furthermore, Nyarko emphasized that democracy is not just about the parliamentary, executive, and judiciary branches, but also about the collective ownership of Ghana’s resources by all Ghanaians. He urged John Dramani Mahama to focus on improving Ghana’s economy rather than establishing committees and task forces.
