Ghanaian Midfielder Michael Baidoo Scores Brace As Elfsborg Reclaim Top Spot With 3 Games To Go

Ghanaian midfielder Michael Baidoo was twice on the scoresheet on Monday as IF Elfsborg recorded another win on matchday 27 of the Swedish Allsvenkan.

The 24-year-old scored a brace as his side beat AIK 3-0 at home to continue their lead at the top of the league table.

Baidoo opened the scoring in the 14th minute of the game to hand his side a well-deserved lead. He intercepted a throw from the opposition in the final third before his blocked pass to his teammate fell kindly for him.

He hit a low shot past the opposition goalkeeper to put his side in front at home.

Johan Larsson doubled the lead for Elfsborg as they headed into the break with a 2-0 scoreline.

That lead became three in the 79th minute with Baidoo scoring from the penalty spot and wrapping up victory for his side.

The result sees Elfsborg reclaim the top spot in the Swedish top flight with three games to go until the end of the season.

Elfsborg are closely followed by Malmo on the league table with two points separating the two teams.

With his brace on Monday, Baidoo has now scored five goals and provided six assists in 26 league games this season for the club.
