Ghanaian Defender Jeremie Frimpong Linked With A Move To Roma

Ghanaian defender Jeremie Frimpong has been linked with a move to AS Roma with the Italian side said to be mulling over a bid for the Celtic man.

Roma’s interest in the highly-rated youngster has been approved by manager Paulo Fonesca. He considers Frimpong a good option as he continues his rebuild at the Stadio Olimpico.

According to reports in Italy, Fonesca’s agent, Marco Abreu, has been given instructions to reach out to Parkhead to discuss a potential move.

The Premiership champions have apparently quoted a fee of £13.5million for the services of the 20-year-old full-back.

The 20-year-old joined Celtic from Manchester City in 2019, with the former English champions including a 30 per cent sell-on clause in the deal.

Thus they would be due a sizeable chunk of any future fee.

Frimpong’s current deal runs until the summer of 2023, which could leave the Hoops tempted to cash in on their asset before his value drops as his contract winds down.
