Ghana U-15 Crowned Champions Of Mondialito Tournament

Ghana’s national U-15 football team has been crowned champions of the 2025 Mondialito Promise tournament after an emphatic 4-1 victory over Maccabi Tel Aviv in the final on Saturday, April 5, 2025.

The young Ghanaian side, coached by Yaw Preko, dominated the competition from start to finish, showcasing flair, discipline and clinical finishing throughout the tournament in Israel.

After notching two wins on the opening day, the team continued their fine form into the second day with a solid 2-0 win over Maccabi Petah Tikva, followed by a commanding 4-0 triumph over Hapoel Tel Aviv to seal their place in the final.

In a thrilling finale that was a repeat of the opening match, Ghana once again proved too strong for Israeli champions Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Goals from Robinho Gavi, James Ofori, Ebenezer Adjei and Abdulai Aziz Issah secured the win, with Maccabi grabbing a late consolation in the final minute.

Ghana’s sensational winger, John Andor, was named Best Player of the Tournament, capping off a stellar performance across the competition.

The award recognised his outstanding creativity, pace and influence on the team’s attacking play.

Coach Preko lauded his team’s effort and discipline, noting that the tournament win reflected the growing potential and talent in Ghana’s youth football structure.
