The Tanzania High Commissioner to Ghana, His Excellency Dr. Benson Alfred Bana, has extended invitation to Ghanaian businesses to set up in the Eastern African country to give meaning to the African Continental Free Trade Area.
According to the High Commissioner, Tanzania is well-positioned for Ghanaians who want to explore tourism and invest in Agriculture.
The High Commissioner noted that there were other investment opportunities in the areas of Agriculture and fertilizer processing to sustain food production on the African continent.
“We are all signatories to AfCFTA protocols. When the heads of state of Tanzania and AfCFTA met, they addressed the issues with the movement of people and goods in the continent. People are invited to invest in agriculture, the fertilizer industry, pesticides, and the cultivation of crops like coffee, tea, cotton, cocoa and cashew nuts. We welcome investors from all over the world to boost agriculture because that sector is the main driver of our economy.”
Tanzania, like many other African countries, is strategically positioning its economy to reap the full potential presented by the Africa Continental Free Trade Area.
According to Dr. Benson Bana, the country has set a target of attracting at least two Ghanaian companies that will be fully set up in Tanzania by end of 2024.
He further added that the longstanding relationship between both countries allows for Ghanaians visiting Tanzania to be issued visas on arrival.
