Ghana Government Must Invest In Film Industry – Spike Lee

The popular American film-maker and actor Shelton Jackson, familiarly known as Spike Lee, has expressed his willingness to shoot a movie in Ghana judging from the scenic locations he has so far sighted in the country.

Lee called for more investment in the local film industry.

“Beyond having a film school, the government has to support the arts … some think arts is frivolous but the arts is what keeps the society going; it speaks to young people,” Lee told the sit-in host of the ABS, Benjamin Offei-Addo.

“These are what make for a thriving movie industry.

“The movie industry has been a blessing for me … on this God’s earth, if you can make a living doing what you love; that’s a blessing,” he said.
